Kind words from our customers, we look forward to seeing you here soon

Cannot recommend Mc G Cakes enough! We recently used them for our wedding cake at Markree Castle and were blown away with the cakes and the service! We visited the venue last year and Brian made a special tasting delivery to the venue so we'd be able to try everything before we decided. The biscuit cake is especially great!
Mackenzie R.
Brian thank you so much for the tartlet selection box I won they were fantastic. Amazing presentation and most of all soooooo tasty 🥰 A big hit in this house not a crumb left 🤣

We couldn't recommend Brian McGonigle and the team at McG Cakes more highly! As a destination couple getting married at Markree Castle, Brian went above and beyond to accommodate us. He worked with us to create a special birthday cake for several of our guests who were celebrating their birthdays while traveling from the United States, which was such a thoughtful addition to our wedding weekend. Our wedding cake also exceeded every expectation. It was absolutely beautiful, exactly what we had envisioned, and tasted even better than it looked. So many of our guests commented on how incredible it was!Brian was a pleasure to work with throughout the planning process, and his talent and attention to detail truly shined. We are so grateful and couldn't recommend McG Cakes enough!

I ordered a cake from Brian for my daughter's 10th birthday. She asked for it as part of her birthday presents, we were not disappointed!
The cake looked like a work of art, she burst into tears when she saw it. It was also beyond delicious, we went with raspberry and white chocolate. To say this cake made her day extra special is an understatement. Brian is a pleasure to deal with by email, and delivery was safe and punctual. I will order from McG cakes again, I recommend you do too.
Vanessa J.
Brian made and delivered our wedding cake just a few days ago. He communicated well throughout the whole process and gave recommendations on cake flavors and designs as we were not local to Ireland and could not attend any tasting. The design was exactly what we had imagined and in person the cake looked spectacular! The cake itself was delicious! Overall a wonderful experience!

Our wedding cake was better than we ever could have asked for! The design was amazing - Brian took the simple ideas we had and created an stunning display that every one of our guests still talks about. The cake flavours were by far the hardest decision we had to make while planning our wedding, as they were all absolutely superb! The cake itself tasted incredible (so much so, our guest were fighting over the leftovers in the morning). It was everything we dreamed of! 5 stars!

Mc Gs never ceases to impress us! Brian is doing amazing work and we get to watch his witchcraft all the time on Instragram! Talk about drool worthy! We hired Brian to make a cake for our wedding and he went above and beyond anything we expected. The cake was extremely moist and the flavors were incredible. We did not get a chance to do a cake tasting because we are from Florida, so we were taking a risk but extremely glad we chose him! Now, we are just sad we did not get to try all of the other flavors! The actual design of our cake was spot on. We showed him things that we liked and did not like and he created a masterpiece! We cannot rcommend him enough!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about our wedding cake! From the moment we saw it, we were absolutely blown away. The design was elegant, romantic, and fit our reception room perfectly. But as gorgeous as it was, the taste was somehow even better. Weeks after our wedding, guests are still reaching out to tell us how incredible the cake was and how it was one of the best wedding cakes they’ve ever had. It’s rare to find a cake that is both a showstopping centerpiece and genuinely delicious, but this one exceeded every expectation.Thank you for creating such a beautiful and memorable part of our wedding day. Mcg cakes delivered a show stopping 5 tier wedding cake to our wedding in August. It had us and our guests talking about it even still. Tasted great! And looked incredible! 1 advice, if your consultation has advice on how to make your dream cake better, take it; because chances are he can make it better! 🤩 thanks again!

Exceptional treats! I am not exaggerating. I looked on social media for years before finally getting the opportunity to try them when the pop-shop opened and boy was I not disappointed. The presentation always looks superb. I thought noway does it taste as good as it looks it must be like any other baked good but I was so wrong. When you eat the baked goods you can taste the creative passion gone into every single bite. The kinder bueno filling is so unique and creamy. The cookie sandwich is chocolately and creamy. If you have not yet tried these baked goods you will not regreat trying these believe me. Don't walk Run.. as this place can often sell out of certain baked goods early.
Niamh M.
Thanks so much for the beautiful cake. Looked amazing but tasted fabulous.

We ordered the chocolate coated brownie hearts for Valentine's Day and they were absolutely delish! The brownies weren't too sweet at all, and my husband, who isn't mad about sweet things said they were the most delicious brownies he'd ever had! There was a mix up with my order, and the candle I bought with the order wasn't sent out with the brownies, but Brian was super quick and helpful and sent the candle out to me immediately. Great customer care, and incredibly tasty treats!

Brian did our day before desserts and wedding cake for our Wedding at Markree Castle and everything was absolutely amazing and delicious. The day before desserts people were obsessed with and all went that night. The wedding cake was so beautiful and tasted delicious as well.Brian was great to work with and share what we wanted for our wedding. We are a couple from the US who got married in Sligo so sometimes that can be a bit harder but Brian made it easy. We would highly recommend him and McGs.
Meghan K.
This review is a year late, but I cannot say enough amazing things about Mc G Cakes. Brian was an absolute gem to work with on our wedding cake. I’m from the US and had no chance to come to Ireland to taste test or shop around. Our wedding planner suggested Brian and we couldn’t not have been happier with the results. He worked with us long distance to come up with multiple sketched designs. He’s so good the choices were so hard to pick only one. What he created was absolute perfection. It was a show stopper and people to this day still talk about the cake. And the taste - amazing. It was also 2 of our friend’s birthdays. Brian also made two small cakes for them. They were stunning. I wasn’t expecting much but got more than I could have ever imagined. If you’re not sure who to pick, seriously, look no further. Can’t wait to come back and visit.
James B.
We highly recommend McG Cakes. Brian was easy to communicate with & he provided us with the exact cake we wanted. Our guests complimented both the design & taste of the wedding cake. Thanks again to McG Cakes.

Thank you to the Brian and the team for our amazing wedding cake. We sent Brian our flavour choices along with pictures and cake charms we wanted to use. Styled to perfection with a taste to match, we couldn't have asked for more! Thank you Mc G Cakes.

Brian was fantastic to work with from start to finish. We traveled from Chicago to Ireland for our wedding so there were a lot of logistics to work through & coordinating with McG Cakes was a breeze. Our wedding cake was a work of art (it doesn’t seem fair to simply call it a cake) and it tasted FAB! Our guests were raving about it, and said it’s ruined them for all other wedding cakes. McG cakes was a big part of making our day so special.
Maggie K.
As soon as we saw photos of other wedding cakes from McG, there was no other option for us! Our cake, the confectionery, the setup - everything was amazing! It was a wonderful surprise to see it all when we got to the dining room. Brian recommended adding some pink sails to the cake that were even better than the picture he showed as example. We loved it all. As did our guests!
Karen W.
Mcg cakes made my beautiful wedding cake display 3 weeks ago at kilronan castle. We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. It was perfect & better than I ever pictured. I booked mcg cakes straight away when we set our wedding date back in 2019. We had to postpone twice and Brian was so helpful each time. I’d recommend to everyone if you want a beautiful & unique display then look no further than mcg cakes. Thanks again😊
